March 2020

ClientEarth is an environmental legal charity that uses the power of law, alongside advocacy and capacity building of partner NGOs to protect the planet and people. They have a powerful track-record in bringing successful cases and established partnerships, to effectively lead conservation efforts, combat climate change and pollution, and secure people’s environmental rights.

ClientEarth will deploy The Becht Foundation funding in the following areas over the next 3 years. Firstly, drastically reducing overfishing by forcing EU governments to live up to their legal obligations to set sustainable fishing limits and police overfishing. Secondly, enforcing effective implementation of protected areas in the EU and globally. Lastly, banning pollinator harming pesticides by forcing EU to disclose use of such pesticides by country and manufacturer as well as fighting legal cases against EU member states who are violating pesticides bans.
