Scaling challenger brands with righteous causes through investment in The Craftory

August 2019

The Craftory is a company which invests in early stage for profit brands with a righteous cause. For example, to provide better health, advance self-esteem, be more sustainable or progress society in other ways. Recently, The Craftory has invested in NotCo, a company which provides plant-based alternatives to meat & diary; Dropps, plant based, plastic-free detergents in fully recyclable & compostable packaging delivered via carbon neutral shipping, and TomboyX, underwear which would fit any person regardless of size or gender. The Craftory is the first UK-based investment company, investing exclusively in purpose-led consumer goods, to achieve B Corp certification.

Consumer goods brands have the power to influence millions of consumers globally to make better choices that are more sustainable, ethical, diverse, and value led. In line with The Becht Foundation’s purpose of protecting our planet’s biodiversity, this unique investment in The Craftory will fuel scaling up of small consumer brands into sustainable mass brands.
