Enabling provision of clean drinking water in a Malagasy village through installation of Elemental Water Foundation’s plug and play desalination unit

September 2019

Elemental Water Foundation (EWF) is an NGO that supports people in overcoming water scarcity caused by climate change. Coastal communities are most vulnerable to climate disasters, which are getting more severe and more frequent because of climate change. Solar-powered desalination technology can especially benefit vulnerable coastal communities by providing access to clean drinking water using the sea and the sun.

Efoetsy, a village in Madagascar, now has daily access to 15,000 litres of affordable clean drinking water year-round as a result of 1 unit, co-funded by Becht Foundation funding and powered by EWM’s sustainable off-grid desalination technology.
