ClientEarth Global is using the power of law to protect and restore marine life and habitats across Europe.

We’re supporting a new three-year initiative to help ensure EU governments follow through on their legal commitments to protect marine life. The team will focus on closing enforcement gaps in marine protected areas, challenging destructive activities like bottom trawling, and defending key legislation – including the Common Fisheries Policy and the new Nature Restoration Law.

Alongside legal casework and advocacy, ClientEarth Global will support partners across Europe to understand and apply marine law, ensuring that national restoration plans and implementation strategies live up to their ambition. By strengthening compliance, building legal precedent and providing expert guidance, the project aims to turn hard-won legal protections into real change for the ocean.
